Osaka Prefectural Office

Osaka · Before 1898 (Meiji era)

Against the bright water, the figures on the near bank stand out in black. Across the river, a row of buildings stretches out, looking small.

About this photo

There are three figures on the near bank. On the far side of the bright river, buildings sit in a low row, and trees reach in from the upper left and from the right, framing the view. A small boat floats on the water.

The photo is titled Osaka Prefectural Office. In the Meiji and Taisho eras, the prefectural office stood at Enokojima, in what is now Nishi Ward, Osaka.
